Description

This fun, satirical piece was originally written for a flash mob as part of the Festival of Voices in Hobart, Tasmania 2025. The song comments on the tendency we have to squawk away on our phones, rather than looking up to enjoy the view. The video below is an excerpt from the live performance as reported on the news, and the bottom video is a demonstration of how to make your beak! (The dress code was white raincoats and yellow or white beaks.) It would be easy to adapt this song for guitar or other instruments if a piano wasn’t available, as the chords are deliberately simple and repetitive.
