Robert writes: “The Benedictus was composed as a companion piece to go with the Agnus Dei. Like the Agnus Dei this work presents first the Latin text and then the English translation. A simple monophonic and homophonic opening evolves into a more polyphonic texture with overlapping cascading voices, all supported by a vibrant piano accompaniment. A short yet bright piece for concert, church or competition, perfect for the developing choir.”
