Description
Dawn Canticle is Ross Edwards’ arrangement for children’s choir of his Dawn Mantras, which was telecast to the world at the dawn of the new millennium from the Sydney Opera House. The work expresses hope for peace and renewal. The text is sourced from various languages, namely Latin, Bunjalung, Japanese and Indonesian. The piece was commissioned by the Sydney Children’s Choir with assistance from the Braden family of Sydney.
The YouTube video is a version which has a harmonic singer and choir chimes added. A drone on didgeridoo can also be added.
