Description
The GARDEN PALACE, set in what is now the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, was a large, purpose-built exhibition building constructed to house the Sydney International Exhibition in 1879. Its central dome was, at the time, the forth largest in the world. The building was almost completely destroyed by an early-morning fire in 1882. Many precious artefacts went up in smoke together. This is a challenging piece for 4-part treble singers and a good pianist.
