Honour the Earth (II) is a song of grateful praise to Mother Earth and a plea for us all to honour her. It brings together many cultural influences from the “earth tribes” – Native American, African, Celtic, Aboriginal and Mongolian (overtone singing) as well as the music of nature herself – birdcalls and flowing streams. Honour the Earth (II) is a 4 minute version of the original score Honour the Earth (8 mins) for choir & orchestra which Sarah composed in 2000 commissioned by Korowa Anglican Girls’ School in Melbourne to celebrate the School’s 110th anniversary.
Please note that the youtube demo by the Montclair State University Singers is the longer version called Honour the Earth and has additional instruments. Information about how to find the other arrangements of this song can be found on Sarah’s website: www.sarahhopkins.com.au
