A ferocious and challenging song, this piece compares the spite within human nature to the wild energies of the sea. Think drunk, angry jazz song with vocal sound-effects and a sea theme and you’ll get the idea. Originally commissioned for the Song Company by Francis and Stephen Muecke, poet Douglas Muecke’s children. Text used by permission.
