Description

This is the first piece in Lachlan’s Song Cycle titled Gwyther, and is about a young man who must travel 1000km on horseback to see the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932. The lyrics invite us to share the concern of Lennie’s mother as she lets him go on this epic journey, hoping that he will return.

Please note: Lennie and the Bridge is the same song as The Horse at Leongatha, the first piece in the song cycle: Gwyther.
