Description

Ruth writes: “This version of the well-known Christmas nativity Liturgical text is an homage to pieces of the same name from the Early Music period. Beautiful settings include a pitch drop and return in the first phrase, and this piece mirrors that idea. It was also written with community choirs in mind – hence the use of more female than male voices. There is some divisi in the SA parts towards the climax, but also repetition, so the piece shouldn’t be too difficult to sing with a few weeks’ practise.”

This piece was written for The Jubilate Singers at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Dulwich Hill.
