Description

This piece is a meditation on the Latin botanic name for the Sacred Lotus flower, Nelumbo Nucifera. Originally commissioned by the Sydney Children’s Choir as part of their Sydney Botanical Gardens project in 2011, this piece can also be sung by adult female voices. The piano part is a meandering melody of flowing passages, with hints of oriental tunes, and requires a good player. A separate cello part is included in the PDF.
