Description
This arrangement of the classic Scottish folk song was written for a music video as a protest against the Australian Government’s harsh treatment of refugees and asylum seekers who arrived by boat in Australian waters. The Latin text in the song refers to the concept of baptism, whereby the spiritual traveller goes through the waters of turmoil representing death to come to a place of safety and restoration. Likewise the Bonnie Prince Charlie seeks to avoid physical and political danger to return one day to be again with his people. Over 170 musicians including 9 choirs came together to voice their protest in this iconic song. The music video on this page also has strings. If you would like the string parts, contact SingScore. (The purchased PDF also includes a separate piano score.)
