Ben writes: “The artwork’s title had been floating around in my subconscious for a month or so, when suddenly a quatrain popped into my head, practically fully formed. When I discovered that it could be happily set in 7/8 (thereby teaching the Mini Singers in the Sydney Children’s Choir about irregular time signatures) I was quite overjoyed. (Place association: I was in the shower in Perth. I’d been gleefully figuring out the stamping and clapping for quite some time before I realised that stamping and clapping in the shower is slightly dangerous. Oops!)”
