Methodist Ladies’ College, Claremont WA is built upon land whose traditional custodians are the Mooro people of the Whadjuk Noongar nation. The College acknowledges those custodians and pays respect to elders past and present. It has named its Early Learning Centre spaces with words from the Whadjuk Noongar language featured in this work.
Kep = Water (fresh)
Karla = Fire
Boodja = Land
Koolangar wabiny = Children Playing
The pronunciation is phonetic except that the “y” in wabiny is silent.
